I’ve never actually tried to write a romance story before, but just for kicks and giggles, I dove headfirst into the New York City Midnight short story competition. You can bet I was surprised as heck when I took first place in my round with a sweet little romance about a tow-truck driving gal and the hairdresser who couldn’t take his eyes off of her.
It had to be a fluke, right? I mean, I couldn’t have impressed the judges that much my first time out of the gate as a novice romance author.
So when the League of Utah Writers announced the annual short story competition a little later in the year, I tossed Intersections into the ring again…
…and it took third place!!!
So, I guess I might have a chance at this “romance author” gig after all. I’m gonna give it a try – and hope you’ll come along with me.
